This course gives an introduction to Web Accessibility focusing on the needs of visually impaired people. It gives a brief overview of the limitations they face, their needs and the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This course is primarily targeted at Web developers/designers, service/application providers, authoring tool providers, managers and decision makers. It will allow them to get a better understanding of the problems visually impaired face when they surf on the Web and the benefits of making accessible Web sites.
